The Sox outfielders just can’t stay healthy. Cody Ross had an MRI on his left foot after fouling a pitch off of it on Friday night’s game vs. the Phillies. Ross initially had XRays in Philly and it showed no fracture. However, the MRI was not as kind and showed a fracture of his navicular bone. It is the same type of fracture that Dustin Pedroia had in 2010, however they say it is in a different place and not as severe. Cody Ross is still heading to the DL and looking at a 6-8 week recovery if he doesn’t need surgery.
Also, Ryan Sweeney did not pass his concussion test, so it looks like he may be heading on the 7 day concussion DL.
